Recording is a wonderful learning experience. It makes you look at your songs in a brand new light and it is a blast...
It is awesome to hold a song that you created in your hand.
You can share it or you can just hold it.
Either way... you'll love the feeling.
I've had people ask me if I record others. I don't. I do not have the expertise to do that.
