Alvarez Yairi: I bought this guitar new in 1973. It's my favorite guitar and has the sound that I judge all other acoustic guitars by. It has a deep bass and beautiful brilliant highs. I usually record with this guitar.
It has no electronics in it so I had to mic it when playing "live". Now, it is so much easier with the electronic pick ups built into the guitar, although in my opinion, electronics never sound as good as the real acoustic sound that comes off the guitar itself.

Jimi and the Fender Stratocaster:
Jimi Hendrix played right-handed guitars that were turned upside down and restrung for left-hand playing. This had an important effect on the sound of his guitar; because of the slant of the bridge pickup, his lowest string had a brighter sound while his highest string had a darker sound, which was the opposite of the Stratocaster's intended design.
